Monogrammed Stoneware Dish
Monogrammed Stoneware Dish
We wish we could find out who's monogram this is but the beautiful intertwined H & W is gorgeous! The markings on the back are for Sarreguemines. It is the name of a French town that is used as part of a china mark. Utzschneider and Company, a porcelain factory, made ceramics in Sarreguemines, Lorraine, France, from about 1775. Transfer-printed wares and majolica were made in the nineteenth century. So this is old but in perfect condition like it was never used. It probably was used for toothbrushes or razors. It is 8 1/2" long and 3 1/2" wide and stand 1" off the ground.
We know you can think of many uses for this lovely piece!
