Victorian Butter Keeper

It is so rare to find one of these with all the pieces!  You place chipped ice in the bottom and add the perforated ( in a star pattern we might add!) section then your butter curls, chocolate or anything you don't want to melt and - voila!- a pretty presentation.  There is even 2 small pieces on the back to hold the lid.  What didn't those clever Victorian think of!  This was probably gold washed which most has been polished away over the century.  We especially love the engravings all over the dome lid.
